BYLAWS

ARTICLE 1: MEMBERSHIP

a) The membership quota of this Club shall be set annually be the Board of Directors at the February meeting.

b) Candidates for membership must be proposed in writing and must be personally known to the proposer. Said proposal shall be approved or disapproved by the Membership Committee. The proposal when approved will allow for an application to be submitted. Each application shall be accompanied by the membership fee and prorated dues as set by the Board of Directors, which application and fees shall be delivered to the chairman of the Membership committee, who shall present it to the committee for action.

c) Associate Members shall be admitted on application only accompanied by a membership fee as set by the Board of Directors and shall be approved by the Membership Committee.

d) Non-Resident Members shall be admitted under he same procedure as regular members, with reduced fees and dues as set by the Board of Directors.

e) Honorary Members may be admitted in accordance with provisions of Article 9(d) of the Constitution of this Club.

f) Rejected candidates shall not again be balloted for, within twelve months from their rejection date.

ARTICLE 2: DUES

a) Annual dues for Active Members shall be set by the Board of Directors, and unless paid on or before the first meeting in march, a penalty of $2.00 may be assesed.

b) Associate Members shall pay annual dues as set by the board of directors, payable on or before the first meeting in march of each year.

c) Non-Resident Members shall pay annual dues as set by the Board of Directors, payable on or before the first meeting in march of each year.

d) Active, Associate, and Non-Resident Members may be suspended for nonpayment of dues, by the board of directors, upon thirty days notice by mail, and where such delinquency is over three months duration. Such suspended members shall not again be reinstated until all arrearage has been paid in full or rescinded by the Board of Directors.

ARTICLE 3: NOTICES

Notices of all meetings shall be sent to all members in good standing at least seven (7) days previous thereto.

ARTICLE 4: YACHT REGISTRATION

Each yacht belonging to a member of the Club shall be registered in the club records by the Secretary. A yacht must be registered on the club records to be entitled to representation.

ARTICLE 5: ARREARS

Active Members in arrears in their dues shall not be entitled to vote at any club election, or to enter in competition in any club race or contest.

ARTICLE 6: REINSTATEMENT

Any member who has been suspended Under article 2(d) of these by-Laws shall have the privilege of presenting an explanation to the directors and, upon making satisfactory explanation of his delinquency, may, in the discretion of the directors and upon full payment of the current dues, be reinstated.

ARTICLE 7: RESIGNATION

Any member in good standing and not indebted to the Club shall be at liberty to resign. All resignations must be in writing and signed by the member transmitting the same.

ARTICLE 8: MEASUREMENT

The owner of a yacht requiring measurement will notify the chairman of th sailboat division in writing, specifying the time and place where the yacht will be, such time to be not less than twenty-four (24) hours after delivery of the notice, and such place must be in some convenient place. The Chairman of the sailboat Division will in turn contact the S.C.Y.A. official measurer for arrangements.

ARTICLE 9: AMENDMENTS

These By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any regular or specially called meeting, provided the proposed amendment be stated in full in the notice of the meeting at which it will be voted on.
